The software-as-a-service (SaaS) was founded by Peter Janssens in 2007, under whose leadership it grew into a trusted partner of a range of European businesses.

To scale the business, the founder sought and secured external investors. In 2021, iController was acquired by Billtrust, a leading U.S. company in B2B receivables management automation. This acquisition allowed Billtrust to expand its customer base while offering even greater value to existing clients.
